State calls last week's sirens at Shell plant a 'false alarm'

By Chrissy Suttles, Beaver County Times

An emergency siren went off at the Shell cracker plant in the evening on Sunday, Nov. 5. The state's Department of Environmental Protection said a crew member at Shell accidentally pushed an alarm during maintenance activities. The site hasn't been in production since October and is currently down for maintenance, according to the DEP.

Local resident Skylar Brimmeier of Vanport Township said he heard the alarm from inside his home Sunday evening and went outside to investigate. Check out his thoughts in The Times article. Read more.
